Downloading and Installing the Adobe Acrobat Reader
If you are not familar with downloading and installing programs, print out this page and keep it at hand while you download the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The document you have selected is provided in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, which requires you, the user, to download the Adobe Acrobat Reader. The current version is 7.0. You need only do this once, but you should periodically check to make sure that you have the latest version.
NOTE: It is possible that you have an early
version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer. If you already installed
the Adobe Acrobat Reader, yet you still get an error when trying to bring
up a PDF file, check the version number. To do this, go into Windows and
open up the Adobe Acrobat Reader program. The version number appears on
the opening screen.
At the Adobe site, f ollow the instructions (make sure to select the operating system on your computer from the drop-down list marked "platform"), and make a note of the directory where you are saving the file.
When the file has finished downloading, leave the Adobe Web site. You are now ready to set up the Adobe Acrobat Reader to work with your browser. On your own computer, go to the directory where you saved the file, and double-click on the icon or file name. This will install the program automatically, prompting you for only a few responses. From now on your browser will be able to read Adobe Acrobat files from MTA Online as well as from other sites without having to repeat this procedure.
