"TRANSIT TRANSIT NEWS MAGAZINE" is a half-hour television show that is aired on both PBS and Public Access cable television. The show has been on air for 9 years and seen in over 22 million homes in the New York Tri-State area per week. Actually, Transit Transit airs over 70 times a month on 20 cable channels, making it the number 1 government show in the country.

The monthly news magazine show is about the 65,000 men and women of NYC Transit and all the other MTA transportation agencies Long Island Rail Road, Metro North, Bridges and Tunnels. Transit Transit is the keystone of our employee communications allowing our 1.8 billion riders and all New Yorkers understand who we really are.

All of the reporters and hosts of the show are volunteers who give of the time and talents. Every two years Transit News has auditions where employees for all the MTA agencies come out to in hope of being chosen for a reporter or crew position. College interns also work on the show. Many of the students seek careers in broadcast communications and journalism. Its one of the few places in the country where interns get real hands on experience.

The program is also about interesting people, fascinating places to visit, history and upcoming events throughout the region. Occasionally there are stories about other transportation systems around the country and world. The show also provides information regarding safety, health, science, train/ bus schedule changes and community service.
