Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Our special Thanksgiving Weekend schedule is “stuffed” with trains to get you to all of the activities you have planned for the long four-day weekend. Thanksgiving Holiday Timetables are available at the Grand Central Information Booth and at outlying ticket offices. Or visit our schedules page for train times. •On Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday, November 25) we will operate extra early getaway trains, beginning at 1 PM, so you can get a jump on your holiday preparations. (Because of decreased ridership in the PM peak, some trains will be combined or eliminated. See a current October 18 timetable for details on early getaway service or visit our schedules page.) • On Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 26) we will operate a holiday schedule with extra AM inbound service for those of you going to the Macy’s Parade. It provides fast, free, home delivery of your ticket and lets you save you 5% on any ticket (except a monthly) by purchasing it online. - Ticket machines. In Grand Central, try our new ticket Machine center located just under the archway to the Lexington Avenue subway, or across from Track 34. Ticket machines are also at outlying stations. Port Jervis Signal Work, November 20-21 From Friday, Nov. 20, at 10 PM through Sat., Nov. 21, 12 Noon, the following trains may experience delays of 10 to 15 minutes in the area of Harriman due to signal improvement work being conducted by Metro-North and NJ TRANSIT. During this time, trains will operate at slower speeds, resulting in expected delays. New Ticket Machine Center Opens in Grand Central The new center houses 10 machines (one for Metrocards only), and is well-lit, climate-controlled, and monitored by security cameras. It looks good, too, featuring a “Montauk” black floor, and the original façade’s large rectangular windows and bronze transom (the half moon grating above the windows). We think it fits nicely with our other “ticket” center, situated across from Track 34. (About 60% of our tickets are purchased via ticket machines. So this is truly a case of giving the people more of what they want…)

New Bike Policy The new policy now allows bicycles: On most trains scheduled to depart from Grand Central Terminal between 5:30 AM and 9 AM, 3:01 PM and 3:59 PM, 8:01 and 8:15 PM, and on connecting trains. On most trains arriving in Grand Central GCT between 4 PM - 8 PM, and on connecting trains. Please remember: bicycles are still not permitted on inbound AM Peak and outbound PM Peak trains as well as during the holiday periods from which they are currently prohibited. (Exceptions to this policy are identified in your timetable.) In addition, allowing bicycles on our trains will be at the discretion of our conductors, should conditions on a particular train warrant their being prohibited. (Folding bikes, however, are allowed on board all Metro-North trains. Please fold your bike before boarding and don't block the aisle or doors. ) View a bike permit application for full details.
Grand Central North Closed Weekends Because of low usage and to save costs, Grand Central North is closed on weekends. Weekday Hours remain the same.
